JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA

What a life!!

We pulled into Jacksonville Florida a week ago tomorrow.  Actually we are at the RV Park on Mayport Naval Station.   It was very warm and humid when we arrived.  This is the best place we have stayed so far.  It is located right at the mouth of the St. John's River.  This picture was taken right out in front of our RV!  Lots of traffic on the river, both civilian and military.  Of course, that made Vern very happy.  Also dolphins frolicking in the river, along with pelicans and other miscellaneous wildlife.  (Lots of feral cats.)
On Sunday we attended the Atlantic Ward.  We just missed the Primary Program by one week again!
Very nice ward.  People very friendly.  We had the same Sunday School lesson that we had last week.  Somebody is trying to tell me something, I think.  It was about genealogy.  "Turning the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers".
On Monday we went over to the Sherry's (Kenny's parents) apartment.  What a wonderful view, looking out over the coast and beaches several blocks away.  They treated us to lunch and we had a wonderful visit.  The wind started picking up that afternoon with some rain.  It looked so stormy out the window, but when you went outside it was so weird because the temperature was still very warm. The wind continued to blow for two days.  They called it a Nor'Eastern.  White caps on the river!  Finally the weather man predicted clearing on Wednesday.  So we decided to venture down to St. Augustine about an hour South of here.
Ate dinner on screened porch of  local restaurant * Yummy!
