WESTERN CARIBBEAN CRUISE
DAY ONE - BON VOYAGE
Due to the hospitality of Cindi and Karl, we were able to book a cheap last minute cruise out of Tampa. They allowed us to park our motor home in their front yard for a week, while we were gone. We were on the "Legend" part of the Carnival Cruise Ships along with 2,600 other people. I'm not sure if that number included the 900+ crew members. Our itinerary included five ports and 2 at sea days. It was a wonderful seven days. The food, entertainment, ports, weather and facilities were all outstanding. Not too many kids on the cruise, but lots of white hair!! We met lots of really nice people from all over. But I would say the majority of the people probably were from Florida. Lots of them seasoned cruisers, unlike us.
We pulled out of Tampa Bay Sunday afternoon. Which was nice, we were able to attend Cindi and Karl's ward sacrament meeting before Karl drove us to the ship. Having last minute cheap tickets, of course we were down in the bowels of the ship, but it really wasn't that bad. Thank goodness it was nice weather, they said the previous week, it rained in every port. It takes a little while to get your bearings on a ship that big. I think it was nearly the last day, that I would darn go anywhere by my self! : ) If you have ever been on a cruise you know when you come back to your room, the bed is turned down. You have your next day schedule, a towel animal and a piece of chocolate on your pillow!! The first night was really hard. We couldn't decide what the towel animal was. Maybe you'll see it better than us. A rabbit with long ears??
