AS CLOSE AS WE GOT

Vern really wanted to go here.  This is what he did for 20 years in the Navy

We made a wrong turn trying to get to the museum.  We accidentally drove up to the gate for NSA.  We thought we were going to get stripped searched and incarcerated.   We got pulled off to the side and were approached by two armed police.  They ask what we were doing there.  We said we just wanted to go to the museum.  They took Vern's license, ID, and vehicle registration and were gone for about 10 minutes.  Finally he came back and said we were good to go!  Lots different than when he worked there before 9-11, when you could drive right up to the building.  Then of course we got to the museum and it was closed because of the government shutdown. : (

                     

This is as close as we got to the monument for the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.  Don't worry, you can't see a thing!!
