THE GRAND OLE OPRY

THE OPRY GOES PINK THIS NIGHT

The program was made up of all women, and $5.00 from every ticket went toward the cure for cancer.
It was a sold out crowd. 4,400 people on a Tuesday  night even!  We bought our tickets on the previous Friday, but were in the nose bleed section!
The opry is primarily a radio show and is on three times a week.  Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.  I didn't know that!  Thought it was on Saturday night only.

The nose bleed section with telephoto.  Thank goodness they had 3 big screens!

LeAnn Rimes
LeAnn Rimes opened the show with one song, then was the closing act.  The rest of the program featured Mandisa, didn't recognize the name at first, but she was on America's got Talent, I believe.  Lorrie Morgan, Pam Tillis, Jeannie Seely,  Natalie Grant, and Amy Grant.
Welcome to the Grand Ole Opry's fairly  new home.  They out grew the Ryman Auditorium downtown Nashville a few years ago, but had cut a circle of floor out of the original stage where many famous people had stood.  Most all the performers mentioned that night what a privilege it was to stand on that spot.  Especially the new up and coming artists.

Waiting for the show to start.

   Lorrie Morgan
Pam Tillis
Jeannie Seely
Rising star Natalie Grant sang a beautiful  religious song about our side winning in the end.

Amy Grant
All the women sang very uplifting encouraging songs about being survivors.  It was a very enjoyable evening.
And of course the show opener:  A Minnie Pearl look alike!
